Bright and Shiny Pop Music for All Your Yesteryears

I still had a bit of vim. So I lopped off another while I did the previous post (and may yet do another couple) and then waited a day to post it. I feel like I'm accomplishing things. How wonderful for me.

1. I Don't Want to Go Back
2. Falling

From the great city of Hoboken. Just like Frank Sinatra. I picked this little 1983 number up half expecting a bit of rockabilly or something. I was incorrect. What it is however is a prime slice of jangly pop music like your mother used to hum. Not much to say. It chimes for itself. The bass player has a current band going. And the man behind the mic, Frank Bednash has continued on under an assortment of names on the Parasol label as duo with one Donna Esposito and managed to strum his way to the Seattle area. This was certainly a pleasant surprise to listen to the first time. I try not to have any expectations when I snag unknown quantities but I have come to quite enjoy its existence. Beyond this little slice I do believe that one of the Teenline comps may have a little later demo as well.

1. Alfa Romeo
2. Smile on Your Face

This is the Dangerous Birds single I mentioned months and months ago in passing. I've had it for nearly 30 years. "Alfa Romeo" being just one of those songs. It'll get stuck in your skull and it won't let go. It's all a bit hazy, but I think that the only time I saw them was at the Bradford Ballroom early show of Mission of Burma's last Boston shows in 1983. I could be wrong. I can't find much online and I feel too lazy to ask anybody. Accept it as fact or don't. Either way. "Alfa Romeo". Make it your morning wake up song for the summer.
