Dennis Most & the Instigators vs. the Mor's

Another day. I believe bowling is in the offing. None of which really means a whole hell of a lot, but it's nice to have a bit of preamble in the post for the sake of the visual aspect of having something over the first set of pictures. A sort of verbal foreplay before diving into the nitty gritty of whatever the hell it is I've got in mind for the day. Now that's done. Let's get on with it.

1. Excuse my Spunk
2. Destructive Love

Dennis Most & the Instigators spurted this little single into the moist and meaty center of 1979. Some folks may be familiar with it from it's inclusion on Shielded by Death Volume 2. Some may not. Doesn't matter either direction. It's a corker. From the ratty lo-fi guitar jabbing to the snotty sarcastic challenge to "Excuse my Spunk" it's nothing but win. B-side is a little less affecting, but not as they say a total wash. It maintains altitude, but never quite delivers like the A-side. A quick google also turns up an interview with the spunkmeister Dennis Most for those interested in knowing more about his current and past activities. I just like records.

1. Girl Next Door
2. Telephone Action

Another one from the oddness that was Minneapolis' own Break'er Records. The little label that nobody ever mentions when they talk local rock history. This little vinyl tidbit inhabits the more garage side of the equation though "Telephone Action" is the more aggressive of the pair. I'm still a few releases short of the discography and actively looking....
