1. Two Doors Down
2. I Found Her
These guys were the final band of the first afternoon all ages show I ever managed to see as a teen. The lineup was Primitive Romance, Native Tongue & Boy's Life at some store front place in Allston near Commonwealth and Harvard around where the original In Your Ear location was. (I'd eventually live blocks away from there) These two songs went on several cassettes I played the fuck out of on my Walkman. They spoke to me then.
1. Boy's Life - Perfect Life
2. Boy's Life - More Trouble for the Modern Man
3. the Outlets - Knock Me Down
4. the Outlets - You Told Me
A year previously Boy's Life split this single with the Outlets in a Battle Royale. From this 21st C. perspective they sorely got their asses handed to them. There's really something kind of hilariously wince inducing about teenagers attempting to be profound.
The Outlets win with a song about a girl and a Monkees cover.
Being a former soundman for both of these great bands, I'm actually rolling bootleg cassettes of both as I read this. Damn, its got to see someone remembers these guys and posts online. Check out my website www.audiotechaustin.com if you want to download any of these live shows in the future.
